The EKO-brand
All farmers, producers and importers in Holland who produce, use, preserve, re-pack or import organic products are obliged to have themselves controlled by SKAL. When SKAL approves their production method, they are allowed to use the EKO-brand. In other countries similar organisations like SKAL check whether a product complies with the organic terms.

De Katjang uses a great number of organic raw materials. Every supplier is checked separately and must be certified himself. Our rice, e.g. is being imported from Italy and controlled by BIO-AGRICERT. SKAL is the organisation that checks the organic production in Holland.
